The Sree Mookambika Institute of Medical Sciences is Set in the backdrop of the western ghats.

The Padanilam Werlfare Trust complex consists of nursing college,dental college and a medical college. It was Founded in 1998.

The Medical College Hospital is 550 bedded and boasts of the state of art facilities. The medical college,has as annual intake of 100 students for mbbs. If offers post graduate courses in all the clinical and non-clinical subjects.

There are seperate boarding and lodging facilities for boys and girls.

The institute is known for its discipline within the short period of starting the MBBS courses, the Sree Mookambika Medical College has carved for itself in the field of medical education and has produced some of the best students.
