The main objective of Ashwini Rural Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre is to promote the best in medical education & to produce doctors with global standards while providing affordable health care to the needy people of the society on non-profit basis with state-of-the-art facilities and modern medical equipment.
We are started our Medical College in the year 2012-2013 with an intake of 100 students. The College and the Hospital are situated in a sprawling campus and has a total built-up area of 86976.86 sq.mt comprising of 15 buildings. The entire necessary infrastructure is composed of fully-equipped laboratories, lecture halls attached with a 520 bed Teaching Hospital as per MCI norms. Our teaching staff consists of many renowned professionals from Maharashtra and other neighboring states.
D. Y. Patil University was established in the year 2005, in the name of the great educationist and philanthropist DR. D. Y. PATIL Padma Shree Awardee. D.Y. Patil Education Society is the sponsoring society of the University. D. Y. Patil Education Society (Institution Deemed to be University) Kolhapur is registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 bearing no. Maharashtra/32907/Kolhapur on 21st November 2013. The sponsoring society started its Medical College in 1989. This college was initially affiliated to the Shivaji University, Kolhapur and later on affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. The Medical College has excellent and constant academic performance, a very strong and aesthetic infrastructural system, efficient and transparent governance and distinct potential for future progress. The Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development, on the recommendation of University Grants Commission under Section 3 of UGC Act of 1956, vide its Notification No. F.9-26/2004-U-3 dated 1st September 2005, has accorded the Deemed to be University status to D. Y. Patil Education Society consisting of D.Y. Patil Medical College, Kolhapur.
The D. Y. Patil University, Kolhapur has among many achievements, has been declared as ‘A’ Grade with CGPA 3.09 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. This grade is valid upto April-2017.

In order to undertake frontier level research in the field of medical science, the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research was established in the University. There are collaborative faculty members and research scholars working under difference projects sanctioned by DST, DRDO, CSIR, New Delhi and BRNS, Mumbai. The Centre offers interdisciplinary science research programmes leading to medical research and the Ph.D. awards. To fill up the gap between undergraduate and Ph.D. programme, the University is conducting two Post Graduate programmes; namely M.Sc. Medical Physics and M.Sc. Stem Cell & Regenerative Medicine. In order to supplement these research activities, the Centre organizes national and international conferences and workshops since its establishment.
Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College & General Hospital is located at Ambegaon, Narhe, Pune. It is founded by President Prof. M. N. Navale and named after the mother of Prof. M. N. Navale. In a very little course of time, this institution has achieved its reputation for academic performance & patient services, not only in Pune but all over Maharashtra.
Hospital was started in 2006 with just 300 beds & expanded to 1094 bedded hospital currently with 840 teaching beds, 80 ICU beds,40 Casualty beds, 20 beds for Oral and Maxillofacial surgery,64 Day Care beds, 2 Pain Clinic and 48 Recovery beds in O.T. The medical college is started with intake of 100 students for MBBS course in September 2007. The intake capacity now has been increased to 150 students. Our MBBS degree is recognized by Medical Council of India and also by Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Government of India –New Delhi. The college is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nashik.
We also conduct Post Graduate courses in the Subjects of Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Community Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Anesthesia, Radiology, Dermatology, Pulmonary Medicine, General Medicine and Pediatrics. The hospital is spread over four buildings. The OPD blocks situated on the ground floor and respective wards are located from the first floor and above. We are providing all the facilities of the hospital in addition to two square meals to indoor.
Every year there has been steady increase in the no. of patients availing the OPD and IPD facility. In the year 2016 we have examined 570592 patients in OPD and 38806 Patients were hospitalized with average daily bed occupancy of 84%. With increasing patient number, all the departments have updated with infrastructure to give better care to sick and needy.
SMBT Educational Trust was founded in the year 1984. The aim was to provide free education to children of economically deprived class of the tribal society. Afterwards, a multi-specialty charitable hospital was started with the sole aim of providing help to rural people in need of medical care. Maharashtra Institute of Medical Science & Research Latur (MIMSRL) principally offers a graduate degree in medicine namely MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery). It has a total student intake capacity of 150. Currently Post Graduate courses are not offered.

Hospital started as a Maternity Home in 1969 which was upgraded to General Hospital in 1970. Since 1977, it was recognized as Teaching Hospital, affiliated to KEM Hospital. In 2006, MCGM decided to redevelop it and accordingly redevelopment work has started in 2009. The new redeveloped Cooper hospital was inaugurated on 30/11/2013. It is 636 bedded secondary care hospital with all general specialities. Hospital accredited by national board of examinations for training residents for DNB in nine general specialities since 2007.
Dr. Ulhas Patil Medical College & Hospital (DUPMC) was started by Godavari Foundation in 2008 to impart quality education in the field of Medical Science. This is one of the flagship institutions of the Godavari Foundation. It started functioning from the academic year 2008-09. A residential school takes on the dual role of academic instruction and parenting. The well-being and comfort of children are top priorities at RiverDale. The dormitories are areas for relaxing, socializing and studying. The design of the buildings is conducive to creating the ideal setting for harmonious living. Each dormitory is headed by a Dorm-Parent living within the premises, creating a family environment with loving supervision and caring guidance.
The school has five dormitories, each named after an essential human virtue-Fellowship, Unity, Harmony, Peace and Wisdom. Each dormitory is housed amidst lush greenery and landscaped gardens, creating a peaceful and serene environment for children.
These dormitories can collectively accommodate about 450 students. Each dormitory is divided into Wings, which accommodate no more than ten students.
Students in the dormitories are served round the clock by a loving and caring Dorm-Parent in each dormitory whose proper supervision and untiring efforts ensure that the stay of students at school is comfortable, and all their needs are met promptly and efficiently. Students are helped to learn to adjust with their peers. Apart from this, students are also trained in the orderly arrangement of their personal belongings in the dormitories, and the maintenance of proper discipline, hygiene and cleanliness.
The toilet blocks of the dormitories are equipped with western-style toilets and bathrooms with hot water. Each dormitory has a lounge and recreation room where children spend their leisure time and unwind.
The school's dormitories are beehives of activity, especially on weekends. A warm and affable environment in the dormitories ensures that students interact among themselves freely, learn to extend mutual support when required, and develop close friendly relations. As in any boarding school, life in the dormitories is the bedrock of the RiverDale community.
The students of grade 12 in Junior College enjoy additional facilities in their dormitories. Each student is assigned with a personal study-desk, bed and cupboard. This helps these senior-most students of the school to have the necessary privacy, especially while engaging in self-study late at night and early in the morning.
BK Birla Centre for Education provides best residential facilities in Pune to its students. The five hostel blocks namely Banyan House, Oak House, Peepul House, Pine House and Teak House, can accommodate 108 to 144 students each.
Each hostel block is a two-storeyed structure housing dormitories or residential flats, common rooms and a study room. Every floor has two teachers acting as a resident house parent who is responsible for the resident students and hostel administration.
The house parent takes care of the general well-being of the students and ensures the smooth management of the hostel. Every dormitory or room is equipped with a study table and a wardrobe for students. Linen at the hostel is changed regularly, with a laundry facility available twice a week.
Banyan House is the girl’s hostel that is under the vigilant eyes of house mistress and other lady caretakers. There are about 44 girls in the hostel at present, though it has the capacity to accommodate double the number. No male acquaintance are allowed into Banyan House. In case of an emergency, the Principal or male medical staff are to be accompanied by two female staff.
All the hostels have a dormitory system of residence. The Pine and Teak Houses, where students of class X to XII reside, having twin-sharing rooms.
