TISB has a thriving boarding community which makes up a quarter of our pupils, some of whose parents live abroad and some who live in Bangalore but choose to board. Boarding at TISB is a great way to take advantage of all that the School has to offer, both from an academic point of view as well as the numerous clubs and activities on offer after the school day.
Boarders live in one of three boarding houses, each one being staffed by experienced House staff with the boarding houses rapidly becoming a happy home-from-home and fellow boarders becoming an extended family. Boarders are encouraged to achieve their true potential and develop valuable skills and qualities such as communication, teamwork, leadership, empathy and cultural understanding.
In the boarding community at TISB maintain an open environment of mutual trust with each boarder and member of staff being treated with respect and as an individual. Strong community values are nurtured regardless of age, race, religion or social background. Boarders are encouraged to take care of each other and their ‘home’ and respect each person’s right to privacy. Of equal importance is the recognition that each person is unique and a development of individual talents is positively encouraged.
Pragathi Vidya Samsthe ® was established in the year 1984-85 and registered under Karnataka State Society Act under the name and style of Indira Priyadarshini College of Law by our Founder Secretary Sri Halli Hanumanthappa, B.Sc., BAL., LL.B., LL.M.(Labour & Capital law), M.Phil.(Intellectual Property Rights), M.A.(Eco).
In the beginning, Government of Karnataka sanctioned permission to start 3 years Law Course (Day College) in the year 1994-95.The College was granted affiliation by Bangalore University and approved by Bar Council of India, New Delhi. During the year 1997-98, 5 years Integrated Law Course (Day College) was granted affiliation by Bangalore University and approved by Bar Council of India, New Delhi. During the year 2008-09, 3 years Law Course and 5 years Integrated Law Course was granted affiliation by Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi and approved by Bar Council of India, New Delhi. The College also gives preference admission to SC/ST and BC's minorities and economically backward students.
The College is situated at a distance of 12 kms from City Railway Station/City Bus Stand. The College is located amidst calm atmosphere and serenial environment making it an ideal place for learning with accesibility to both public and private transport system. Good coaching and instructions by qualified teachers are made available to the students.
Till now 18 batches of Students have passed out from the College and have entered various careers in Legal Profession namely as Judges, Magistrates, Govt. Pleaders, Public Prosecuters, legal advisors to financial & non-financial institutions.
The College which is in the heart of the city, was started during 1984-85 under the aegis of the Seshadripuram Educational Trust. The Trust started the Institution with a cherished ambition to impart legal education which is a very important step towards spreading legal awareness and empowering the helpless in the society. The College is affiliated to Karnataka State Law University, Hubli and recognized by Bar Council of India, New Delhi. It conducts three year LL.B. Course since 1984. From 2004-05 Five Year LL.B. law course has been started. The college has a Governing Council duly constituted by Seshadripuram Educational Trust. Sri K. Krishnaswamy, advocate has been the Chairperson of the Governing Council. All the members of the Governing Council are accomplished academicians, legal luminaries, management experts and persons of eminence in public service. Governing Council meets regularly four times a year to review academic and administrative work.

THE BHS Managing Committee was established in 1942 by a group of eminent educationists and philanthropists and was registered as a non-profit body dedicated to the cause of education Its first concern was to concentrate on programmes essential for educating young boys and girls in Bangalore. Thus, Secondary and Pre-University course which form the basic foundation for employment and career opportunities were given prominence in the beginning.
In 1942, the first step was taken by establishing the Bangalore High School in a rented building at Visveswarapuram, Bangalore. Under the stewardship of its President-Late Rao Bahadur Professor B.Venkateshchar, Retired Director of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and the dedicated efforts of the Secretary Late Dharmaprakasha L.S. Venkaji Rao, a prominent businessman, the Managing Committee started the Vijaya College in 1945 in the same premises with the present Pre-University courses. During the next ten years, the college moved into its own building in Chamarajept, thanks to the generosity of His Holiness of Sri Sringeri Mutt.
The K.L.E. Society’s Law College at Bangalore has been conceived as a nursery and training ground for those seeking to enter the legal profession. Under the umbrella of Karnataka Lingayat Education Society, the college was established in 1975 to cater to the needs of young students desirous of pursuing legal education in Bangalore.
