The Bijapur Lingayat District Educational Association (BLDEA) was established in the year 1910. It is a not for profit organization catering to the educational needs of under priviliged children and widening educational opportunities. Promoting religious, scientific and general literature is one of the important objective of the Association. BLDEA aims to achieve this objective by establishing schools, colleges and free student hostels for poor students. The Association with a rich history of more than a century is dedicating for multi-literary development through its wide educational and cultural institutions network.
Lower strata of the society and poor are the association’s target group. BLDEA has successfully completed its 100 years of fruitful, influential and proud existence. Presently 75 institutions are functionong under the aegis of BLDEA in various streams starting from primary, secondary, high schools to PU Colleges, Autonomous Arts, Science & Commerce Degree Colleges, Engineering College, Medical College, Business Schools, Pharmacy College, Nursing College and professional instittutions like Colleges of Education, Polytechnics & BLDE University. Thus, the Association has contributed significantly in development of educational sector to the country.

Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education, (declared as Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 ) Tumkur, was established vide MHRD GOI No. F.9-31/2006-U.3 (A) dated: 30/05/2008 of Govt. of India. Sri Siddhartha Medical College and Sri Siddhartha Dental College have been functioning as constituent colleges of Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education since 01/06/2008.
Further as per Govt. of India notification vide No. F.9-31/2006-U.3(A) Dtd. 16/12/2008, the UGC in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, included Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology, Maralur, Tumkur, as an off-campus constituent teaching unit of Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education, Tumkur with effect from 06/03/2009.

The institute will strive to be among the top ten medical colleges in India in the spheres of medical education, research and health care services. The extreme shortage of medical facilities in the region, promoted the KLE Society to establish the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College at Belgaum in 1963. The J N Medical College, Belgaum, stands testimony to the high professional standards aimed for and achieved by the KLE Society. Under the able guidance and mature insight of the Founder Dean, Late Dr. B.S.Jirge, the foundation of the present academic vastness was laid. Eminent medical educationist, late Dr.B.S. Desai and Dr. M.Basavaraj Urs headed the institutions as principals during the first decade.
Dr.S.G.Desai took over the reigns of the institution in 1971. His distinguished tenure between 1971 and 1985 was marked by the achievement of high standards of discipline, decorum, and academic excellence.
Dr.H.B.Rajshekhar assumed the office of the principal in 1985. During his tenure; the college saw vast growth in infrastructure and learning resources. He contributed substantially in the up coming of the KLE Hospital and MRC, Department of Medical Educaiton, Digital Library and collaboration with the University of Illinois, USA. These ideas were conceived and realized during his tenure. Welfare and student support amenities were given a great emphasis by him..

For nearly five decades, the Bapuji Educational Association (BEA) has been continuously working towards transforming Davangere, in State of Karnataka into a major centre for education.
Founded in July 1958, the BEA was established for the advancement of education in the fields of Arts, Fine arts, Commerce, Education, Humanities, Law, Science, Medicine, Dental Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Engineering, Management Studies & other allied educational facilities. In addition to creation of providing a resource bank for the country in ‘times of need’, BEA established and manage Hospitals, Charitable Institutions for the benefit of society.
Today, 55 years on, the BEA manages as many as 43 educational institutions ranging from kindergartens to professional colleges offering post-graduate courses. The association runs 11 hostels for their students - three for boys and eight for girls.
