THE BHS Managing Committee was established in 1942 by a group of eminent educationists and philanthropists and was registered as a non-profit body dedicated to the cause of education Its first concern was to concentrate on programmes essential for educating young boys and girls in Bangalore. Thus, Secondary and Pre-University course which form the basic foundation for employment and career opportunities were given prominence in the beginning.
In 1942, the first step was taken by establishing the Bangalore High School in a rented building at Visveswarapuram, Bangalore. Under the stewardship of its President-Late Rao Bahadur Professor B.Venkateshchar, Retired Director of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and the dedicated efforts of the Secretary Late Dharmaprakasha L.S. Venkaji Rao, a prominent businessman, the Managing Committee started the Vijaya College in 1945 in the same premises with the present Pre-University courses. During the next ten years, the college moved into its own building in Chamarajept, thanks to the generosity of His Holiness of Sri Sringeri Mutt.
The K.L.E. Society’s Law College at Bangalore has been conceived as a nursery and training ground for those seeking to enter the legal profession. Under the umbrella of Karnataka Lingayat Education Society, the college was established in 1975 to cater to the needs of young students desirous of pursuing legal education in Bangalore. To start with, a three Year LL.B. Degree Course was introduced and in the year 1996, a five year Integrated Degree Course in B.A. LL.B. was introduced to attract young students to commit at their earlier age to a Professional Course. Siddharth College of Law was founded in Mumbai in 1956. It is run by the People's Education Society which was formed by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on 8 July 1945. The college is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The college was formed with a vision to spread legal education amongst all sections of society. The college is housed at the Anand Bhavan which has been declared as a heritage structure by the Heritage Society of the MMRDA.
Currently, the college offers the three years LL.B. course. But, the five years B.S.L., LL.B course is also proposed. There are also Post Graduate Diploma and Certification courses being conducted by the college.

Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) is a Public Charitable Trust registered under the Society’s Registration Act, 1860 and Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950. From its humble beginnings in 1934, when it took over the Rashtriya Shala, a school established in 1921 in the wake of the National Movement, the Mandal expanded its activity by opening institutes covering various branches like Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Engineering (Diploma & Degree), Pharmacy, Architecture and Management Studies etc. Today the Mandal has grown into a big educational complex imparting high-level education to more than 35,000 students. The Mandal received a handsome donation from Shri Narottam Chauhan for the establishment of the Law College. The college is named ‘Jitendra Chauhan College of Law’ (JCCL) after his son’s name, late Shri Jitendra Chauhan and it started functioning from 1977.

ACL, Mumbai offers 3 courses across 1 streams namely Law and across 3 degrees like LLB, PGD, Diploma.Hostel facility is not available for its students. Additional campus facilities such as Computer Lab, Cls. Room, Placement are also there.
The Board established Gopaldas Jhamatmal Advani Law College widely known as G. J. Advani Law College in the year 1977 which is permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai and recognized under Section 2(f) & 12(B) of University Grants Commission Act and also recognized by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi (vide registration No. BCI/LE/GJAL/MBI/MU/04/) for the teaching of the three year Degree course in Law (LL.B.).
The College is named after one of the leading advocates of Sind, Late Shri. Gopaldas Jhamatmal Advani, who was a scholar and writer of the book titled as ‘Arbitration and Specific Relief Act’.
