Nanjing Medical University was founded in 1934 as Jiangsu Provincial College of Health Policy and Management. In 1993, it was renamed Nanjing Medical University. It is one of the key universities sponsored by Jiangsu Province. In 1962, it began offering six-year programs and, in 1981, was approved to award doctoral and master’s degrees. NMU was founded in 1934 as National Jiangsu Medical College. When the institution moved to Nanjing in 1957, it was renamed Nanjing Medical College. In 1962, it joined the first group of Chinese medical universities to offer six-year programs, and was approved to confer doctoral and master’s degrees in 1981. In 1993, it was renamed Nanjing Medical University with the approval of the State Educational Committee. It is one of the key universities sponsored by Jiangsu Province. Today, NMU stands as one of the top medical universities in China.

Kunming Medical University(KMU, formerly known as Kunming Medical College)was founded in 1933 and has since established itself as the largest specialized medical university of higher medical education, scientific research and medical service in Yunnan, P. R. China. KMU has educated over 80,000 graduates since its inception. KMU has three campuses which occupies about 109 hectares. It has about 15,000 students, of which nearly 2,400 graduate students and 6,750 staff and faculties, 1,450 professors and associate professors. Hebei Medical University (HEBMU) is one of the oldest and best medical universities in China. Its history can be traced back to 1894, Qing Dynasty. Dalian Medical University was founded in 1947. China Medical University (CMU) was the first medical school established by the Chinese Communist Party. Its precursor was the Chinese Workers’-Peasants’ Red Army Military Medical School and Chinese Workers’-Peasants’ Red Army Health School founded in Ruijin city, Jiangxi province in 1931. After the Long March with the red army, it moved to Shan-bei. In 1940, proposed by comrade Mao Zedong and approved by the central committee of Chinese Communist Party, the name of the school was changed to China Medical University. CMU now has 18 colleges, faculties and sections, 130 departments, 34 disciplines(specialties) were authorized to grant doctor degrees and 49 were authorized to grant master's degrees; 11 specialties for undergraduates; 8 provincial research and treatment centers, 3 municipal research centers; 21 educational and research institutes or centers, 8 central laboratories of the university or its colleges; 15 independent research laboratories; 3 companies of science and technology.
